රුවන් වැලි සෑ පුද බිමට ආසන්නයේ පිහිටා ඇති නමුත් අනුරාධපුරයට පැමිණෙන සංචාරකයන්ගේ සහ බැතිමතුන්ගේ අවධානය එතරම් යොමු වී නොමැති පුරා විදු බිමක් වෙත ඔබගේ අවධානය මා අද දිනයේ යොමු කිරීමට අදහස් කරමි. අනුරාධපුර ප්‍රධාන දුම්රිය ස්ථානයේ සිට කිලෝ මීටර් දෙකක් පමණ නුදුරින්, රුවන්වැලිසෑය ඉදිරිපිට මෙම චෛත්‍ය පිහිටා ඇත. ක්‍රි. පූ. 119 – 137 යුගයේදී අනුරාධපුර  රජකම් කල සද්ධාතිස්ස රජුගේ කාලයේදී මෙම දාගැබ ඉදිකරන්නට ඇති විශ්වාස කෙරේ. මහා වංශයේ සහ මනෝරථපුරණියේ සඳහන් වන ආකාරයට සද්ධාතිස්ස රජ සමයේදී අපවත්වූ කුජ්ජතිස්ස මහා රහතන් වහන්සේගේ දේහය අහසින් ගොස් මෙම ස්ථානයේදී මහා පෙළහරක් පා ඇත. මෙම දාගැබ අනුරාධපුර යුගයේ අවසන් භාගයට අයත් ගෘහ නිර්මාණ ලක්ෂණ වලින් යුක්ත බව පුරා විදු මතය වේ. අනුරාධපුරයේ සංචාරයට පැමිණෙන ඔබ, මෙම එයිතිහාසික වටිනාකමකින් යුත් ස්ථානය දැක  බලා ගැනීමට අමතක නොකරන්න.

Sila Chethiya (kujja thissa Dagoba)

Today I would like to draw your attention to an archeological site located close to the Ruwanweli Seya  but which has not received much attention from tourists and pilgrims visiting Anuradhapura. This dagoba is located in front of Ruwanweliseya, about 2 km from the main railway station in Anuradhapura. It is believed that this Dagoba was built during the reign of King Saddhatissa who ruled Anuradhapura during the period 119 – 137 BC. According to the Mahavansa and the Manorathapurani, the remains of Arahant Kujjatissa had levitated and travelled to the place where the selachethiya is located and exhibit great miracle. It is believed that this Dagaba has architectural features belonging to the late Anuradhapura period. If you are visiting Anuradhapura, don't forget to check out this historically valuable place.
