යුනෙස්කෝ  ලෝක උරුම අනුරාධපුර නගරයේ පිහිටි  රන්මසු උයන

අද මම ඔයාලට කියන්න යන්නේ අනුරධපුරවරයට තවත් ඓතිහාසික වටිනාකමක් එකතු කරලා තියන පුරාවිද්‍යාත්මක බිමක් වූ රන් මසු උයන ගැන. ප්‍රධාන නගරයේ සිට පූජා නගරය වෙත ගමන් කරන විට ඉසුරුමුණිය රජමහා විහාරයට  නැගෙනහිර දෙසින් තිසා වැව පාමුල මෙම රන් මසු උයන පිහිටා තිබේ. ලකාවේ පැරණි උද්‍යාන නිර්මාණ කලාව සහ සියුම් ජල කළමනාකරණ තාක්ෂනය විදහා දක්වන උදාහරණයක් ලෙස පෙන්වා දිය හැකි මෙම රන්මසු උයන අක්කර හතලිහක පමණ භූමි ප්‍රමාණයකින් යුක්තය. තිසා වැවේ සිසිලස නොමදව ලබන මෙම රාජකීය උද්‍යානය තුල ගලින් නිම කරන ලද අලංකාර පොකුණු දෙකක් ස්නානාගාර, සහ රාජකීය උද්‍යානයක දැක ගත හැකි අංගෝපාංග රැසක නටඹුන් මෙන්ම  ස්වභාවික ගල් තලාවන් රැසක් ද දැක ගත හැක. රාජකීයයන්ගේ ස්නානය  සඳහා මෙම පොකුණු ඉදිකරන්නට ඇති විශ්වාස කෙරේ. මහමෙව්නා උයන සඟ සතු කල බැවින් වෙනත් රාජකීය උද්‍යානයක අවශ්‍යතාවය සම්පූර්ණ කිරීම සඳහා ක්‍රි.ව.තුන් වන සියවසයේදී දේවානම්පියතිස්ස රජු විසින් මෙම උයන කරවූ බව ඉතිහාසයෙහි දැක්වේ . සාලිය කුමරුන් හට අශෝකමාලාව මුණ ගැසුනේ මෙම රන්මසු උයනේදී වන බවටද ජනප්‍රවාදයේ දැක්වේ.මෙම උයනෙහි එක් ලෙනක් ආශ්‍රිතව පිහිටා තිබෙන විශ්ව චක්‍රය සම්බන්ධයෙන්ද විවිධ මත පවතී. වියලි කලාපයට ආවේනික වෘක්ෂලාතාදියෙන් පොහොසත් මෙම බිම, සොබා සෞන්දර්යයෙන් පොහොසත් ස්ථානයක් ලෙස මෙය සංචාරකයින්ගේ සිත් ආකර්ෂණය කර ගන්නවා නොඅනුමානය.

UNESCO World Heritage Site “Ranmasu Uyana’ in Anuradhapura

Today I am going to tell you about the “Ranmasu Uyana” (Royal Garden) which is another archeological site that has added another historical value to Anuradhapura. This Ranmasu uyana  is located at the foot of Tissa Lake, east of Isurumuniya Rajamaha Viharaya on the way from the main city to sacred city of Anuradhapura. This Royal park covers an area of ​​about forty acres and is an example of the ancient horticultural art and fine water management technology of Sri  Lanka. Inside the Royal Garden, there are two beautiful stone ponds, baths and the ruins of many of the features found in a royal garden, as well as a number of natural stone slabs. Because Mahamevuna Uyana was offered to the maha Sangha, It is believed that these ponds were built for the bathing of the royals. History states that this garden was established by King Devanampiyatissa in the 3rd century AD for royal family. According to the folks tellers that Prince Saliya met Ashokamala at this Ranmasu Uyana. There are also differing opinions regarding the cosmic cycle (Star Gate) associated with one cave in this garden. This land is rich in vegetation endemic to the dry zone and is sure to attract tourists as it is a place rich in natural beauty.
